In Her Words

"Don't be afraid to stumble and fall down a little, because often it is doing what scares you the most that offers the greatest rewards" - OTH.

This quote represents my journey with yoga. I have realized that you have to fall to walk, as you have to fall to find your balance. Finding the strength to challenge those fears, doubts, attachments, insecurities, etc. by learning how to let them go, to laugh them off, to find the spontaneous play, and the ease, within the hard work and dedication, has had the most profound effect on my life. Understanding that it is necessary to fall.

This journey started for me when I walked into a studio for the first time, curious about this "physical" practice, I made my way into a hot room, and never really left. When I'm on my mat I feel like I am home, my practice has been everything I needed it to be, when I needed it to be. I have had the privilege of training with some amazing instructors, who nurtured my curiosity and drive to be constantly learning and deepening my knowledge of this practice, and lifestyle.  I teach so that I can help people to find whatever it is they need, in this moment, in their lives, and am so grateful to be a part of that discovery.

"The road is long, and in the end, the journey is the destination"

History & Philosophy Instructor

Nand Narine is a University Lecturer, Author and Yoga Teacher in Edmonton.  He brings an interesting mix of Easter and Western perspective to the study and practice of Yoga.  His diverse experiences on and off the mat have gradually interwoven into an inspiring Yoga lifestyle.

Growing up in the Caribbean Islands has created a passion for natural, exotic settings and sounds.  His writings and philosophical teachings are enjoyable journeys into the history of Yoga and the spiritual wisdom of great Yoga teachers.

Nand teaches different styles of Yoga and brings the focus to the inner transformation and emotional bliss derived from a consistent Yoga practice.  He travels Internationally to lecture and teach Yoga philosophy at various seminars, workshops and Yoga Teacher Training Programs.

Meditation Instructor

Kat discovered and began sitting silent retreats in 1997. She has spent time in India, Burma and the United States on extended silent retreats with renowned teachers in different Buddhist lineages. Kat constantly evolves and deepens her practice of mindfulness meditation through study, retreats and the continual support of her teachers and community of practitioners. The practice of meditation is a gradual process towards the mind’s natural state of clarity and ease. It is a practice that requires care and curiousity, developing a compassionate understanding of our human life and the possibility to live with awareness and contentment.  She is also an experienced Yoga and Pilates Instructor.

Kat loves to ride her bike, has a voracious appetite for dark chocolate, spends quality time with her husband, friends and in nature to enjoy the simple yet delightful aspects of daily life!

Ethics & Meditation Instructor

Caroline's Yoga journey began some 17 or so years ago with a crash course introduction to both the physical and spiritual practices of Yoga.  She was immediately hooked, but not by the asana.  It was the philosophy - the deeper teachings, that got her.

Yoga has been a constant for Caroline.  At some times playing a greater role in terms of physical practice, while always remaining a part of her ideology and approach to life.

Caroline loves to facilitate self-discovery.  With so much depth and wisdom to explore, Yoga offers the perfect vehicle for this journey of inquiry, growth and personal evolution.
