Functional Movement & Anatomy

Prerequisite Requirement

All of our instructor certification programs require completion of the Functional Movement & Anatomy Course prior to attending training.

This course provides the essential foundation in movement, anatomy, and body mechanics needed to safely and confidently teach.

Exemption Option:
Students with previous anatomy or movement-based education may request to challenge the prerequisite by completing an in-person exam. A passing grade of 80% or higher is required.

The Functional Movement & Anatomy Course is a foundational educational experience designed to build a clear, practical understanding of how the body moves. This course bridges anatomy with real-world movement, helping students connect structure to function in a way that is immediately applicable to Pilates, fitness, and mindful movement practices.

Rather than memorizing anatomy in isolation, this course emphasizes feeling, observing, and applying anatomical concepts through movement. Students will gain a functional framework that supports safer exercise, clearer cueing, and deeper confidence as movers and future instructors.
